Traditional Chinese Medicine has existed for thousands of years and has proved to be fast, effective and safe, without involving any surgical procedures.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M) has been my family’s business for over a hundred years, I am originally from Hong Kong, and have crossed thousands of miles in order to serve people in the U.K.
My Story
James Suen comes from a family of notable Chinese medicine practitioners in Hong Kong, in which the practice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has passed from generation to generation for over one hundred years. He holds a degree in Chinese Medicine from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine(GZUCM) , which is one of the top ranking medical schools in the country and has produced some of the finest TCM graduates in the world. During his training, he studied tirelessly under the guidance of famous teachers and professors in order to achieve at the highest level. James’ passion for medical technology prompted him to take up an additional internship in the oncology department of the university where he had the opportunity to treat patients that were critically ill.Prior to relocating to Bath, James was a distinguished TCM practitioner in Hong Kong with more than 10 years experience and he has administered over 100,000 treatments. He excels in orthopaedic conditions, the improvement of blood and meridian circulation, and muscle and bone alignment. He also specialises in acupuncture, delving into the area of beauty with acupuncture. He is a strong advocate of Chinese medical practice.

Nano-Acupuncture

The needles we use for our treatments are specially made in order to cause less damage to the skin of the patient. A thinner needle also helps the acupuncturist to feel and direct the Chi in the patient’s body. The use of extra fine needles requires a more refined set of skills compared to those for general acupuncture. This makes Nano-Acupuncture more accurate and effective.

Bone Setting

Bone setting is one of the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is considered to be the basis for the development of modern chiropractic and osteopathic treatment. Traditional bone setting is a holistic process to address the balance of the skeleton, muscles and joints, in order to relieve pain. Before the advent of chiropractors, osteopaths, and physical therapists, bonesetters were the main providers of this type of treatment. Bone setting refers to the manipulation or “setting” of fractured bones, ruptured sinews and muscles in order to alleviate an injury. A Chinese Medicine practitioner will treat bone fractures, concussions, sprains and joint dislocations through pulling, repositioning and aligning, avoiding any invasive procedures. The objective is to maintain the wholeness of the body. Body pain can be caused by incorrectly stressed, overextended or blocked areas such as those of the spine or joints and related glands. For pains such as back-pain, sprains or concussions, Chinese Medicine considers bone setting to be more effective than light exercise or physiotherapy.

Cupping and Massage

Traditional Chinese medicinal practice and Tui Na therapy involves the healing art of touch with scientific manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body for the purpose of releasing the existing tension, returning them to natural alignment and contributing to a sense of general well-being. This is a form of therapy in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and other therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, and/or causing movement of or to the body and/or applying pressure to the body. Benefits include: Improvement to the circulation of blood, metabolism and functioning of the lymph glands Expelling waste products from the cells Easing pain from an injury Cleansing tissues to shorten recuperation time Greater flexibility and range of movement, and an increase of the ease and efficiency of joints Improvement in posture Promotion of deeper and easier breathing Enhancement in the health and nourishment of skin Reduction of stress Reduction in levels of anxiety A feeling of well-being An increased awareness of the mind-body connection.

Cosmetic acupuncture

Balance Yin and Yang: Everything can be divided into Yin and Yang, and the human body also works based on this principle. When Yin and Yang become imbalanced, sickness may be the result. Therefore, if the facial bones are out of balance, and are asymmetrical, this can be addressed through the processes of cosmetic acupuncture. Some facial issues may be the result of poor circulation. This can also be treated. Using the acupuncture needle as a medium, unblocking the inner energy within the facial tissues nourishes the affected area, gets rid of waste or toxic substances, and so skin will look fresher. As the inner energy is stimulated within the facial muscles, they will be uplifted.
